LETECH — LEATHER PRIMER

Professional water-based adhesion promoter for leather and PU. Levels porosity, improves wetting and creates a stable, receptive foundation for durable recolouring and protective top coats.

Signature Advantages

• High-adhesion intercoat for stronger colour bonding

• Flexible, non-brittle film

• Evens absorption on repaired and intact areas

• Supports long-term durability in high-wear zones

Created for Professionals

• Automotive: bolsters, steering wheels, panels after prep/filler

• Furniture: seating areas and armrests for uniform recolouring

• Leather goods: bags, footwear, accessories requiring strong adhesion

Compatible Leather Types

Finished/pigmented leather, many semi-aniline and PU/artificial leather surfaces prepared with Degreaser/Prep.

Not suitable for suede or nubuck.

Refined Result

A smooth, keyed, absorption-balanced surface that anchors Colourant evenly and boosts scratch and wear resistance.

Application Notes

Apply by sponge or spray in thin, even coats; allow light flash between layers.

Prep workflow: Degreaser → Prep → (Binder/Fillers if needed) → Leather Primer → Colourant → Top Coat.

Use multiple light passes rather than one heavy coat.

For extreme-wear zones pair colour/top coat with Cross-Linker for maximum resistance.

How to Use – Step by Step

  1. Surface Prep — Clean and degrease (Leather Liquid Degreaser). Key the surface with Leather Prep; complete any Binder/Light/Heavy Filler steps. Remove dust.
  2. Stir & Test — Mix thoroughly. Make a small test on a hidden area to confirm wetting and adhesion.
  3. Application — Apply Leather Primer in thin, even coats by sponge or spray. Work from seam to seam; avoid heavy wet layers.
  4. Dry — Allow each coat to flash/air-dry (gentle warm air permitted). Proceed when dry to the touch.
  5. Build — 1–2 light coats are typically sufficient for uniform wetting and adhesion.
  6. Proceed — Apply Leather Colourant in controlled passes, then protect with the desired Top Coat.
  7. Quality Check — Inspect under consistent lighting for uniform coverage before colour application.
