LETECH — LEATHER SOLVENT CLEANER

High-strength solvent preparation fluid for deep contamination removal on leather, vinyl and PU. Breaks down oils, silicones, waxes and stubborn films, deglosses the surface and creates optimal keying for long-lasting adhesion of repair and colour systems.

Signature Advantages

• Strong solvent action for heavy contamination

• Removes silicones, waxes, polishes and persistent residues

• Deglosses and feathers failing coatings

• Creates a clean, keyed substrate for Binder, Fillers, Primer and Colourant

Created for Professionals

• Automotive: steering wheels, bolsters, panels before recolouring

• Furniture: armrests and high-touch zones with glossy build-up

• Leather goods: straps, edges and heavy-use areas before restoration

Compatible Leather Types

Suitable for finished/pigmented leather and many coated PU/artificial leather surfaces.

Use with extreme care on aniline/semi-aniline.

Not suitable for suede or nubuck.

Refined Result

A uniformly deglossed, contamination-free surface that ensures stable adhesion and consistent film formation in professional restoration workflows.

Application Notes

Use with lint-free cloths or fine fibre pads. Work seam-to-seam, feathering unstable edges.

Keep pads clean; replace as they load with residue.

For general oils start with Leather Liquid Degreaser; switch to Solvent Cleaner when residues persist.

If further keying or coating removal is required, follow with Leather Prep.

Always test on a hidden area to verify sensitivity and removal strength.

How to Use – Step by Step

  1. Safety & Test — Work in a ventilated area away from ignition sources. Test on a hidden spot, especially on aniline/semi-aniline.
  2. Apply — Moisten a lint-free cloth with Leather Solvent Cleaner (do not pour directly).
  3. Wipe & Key — Wipe from seam to seam; on stubborn zones use a fine fibre/abrasive pad to degloss and feather failing edges.
  4. Refresh Cloth — Replace cloths as they soil to avoid re-depositing contamination.
  5. Flash Off — Allow to evaporate completely (dry-to-touch).
  6. Proceed — Continue with Leather Binder (if needed), Light/Heavy Filler, Primer, Colourant, then Top Coat.
  7. Notes — On very heavy build-up first use Leather Liquid Degreaser, then refine with Solvent Cleaner and Leather Prep if required.
