LETECH — LEATHER COLOURANT

Professional waterborne pigmented system for repair, restoration and full recolouring of leather and PU. Delivers high coverage, flexible film and OEM-grade appearance when integrated into the LeTech finishing workflow.

Signature Advantages

• High coverage

• Flexible, wear-resistant film

• Spray or sponge application

• Full system compatibility

What It Does

Leather Colourant creates a smooth, elastic coating that bonds to properly prepared leather. It levels shade variations, restores uniform colour, and maintains fine grain detail. Builds coverage in thin coats for a clean, factory-like finish.

Professional Applications

• Automotive: bolsters, steering wheels, seat panels

• Furniture: seating zones and high-traffic armrests

• Leather goods: bags, shoes, jackets and accessories

Compatible Leather Types

Finished/pigmented leather and many PU/artificial leather surfaces prepared with Degreaser + Prep.

Use caution on aniline/semi-aniline.

Not suitable for suede or nubuck.

Technical Profile

• Waterborne pigmented coating

• Thin-coat application: sponge/brush or spray

• Flexible, wear-resistant, smooth tactile feel

• Workflow: Degreaser → Prep → (Binder/Fillers if required) → Primer → Colourant → Top Coat

• Works with Cross-Linker (durability) and Slip Additive (tactile tuning) — per TDS

• Final sheen set by chosen Top Coat (Matt / Satin / Gloss / HyperMatt)

Available volumes: 100 ml · 200 ml · 500 ml · 1 L · 5 L

Colour Matching Tips

Colour may appear different wet vs. dry; always assess after full drydown.

Top Coat sheen affects the final perception — match gloss across the entire panel.

Record mixing ratios and lighting conditions for repeatable matches.

How to Use – Step by Step

  1. Surface Prep — Degrease (Leather Liquid Degreaser) and key with Leather Prep. Stabilise fibres with Leather Binder if needed; level with Light/Heavy Filler; dust off.
  2. Prime — Apply Leather Primer in thin coats; let it flash dry to a uniform, receptive surface.
  3. Stir & Test — Shake/stir colourant thoroughly. Make a small test patch to confirm tone and adhesion.
  4. Application (Manual) — Dab/feather with sponge in thin, even coats from seam to seam. Allow flash between layers.
  5. Application (Spray) — Multiple light passes for uniform build; avoid heavy wet layers (spray settings require verification).
  6. Colour Build — Repeat until coverage is uniform. Assess colour only after dry-down.
  7. Protect — Finish with the desired Top Coat (Matt / Satin / Gloss / HyperMatt). For extreme wear, add Cross-Linker per TDS (ratio requires verification).
  8. Cure — Allow the system to cure before heavy use/cleaning (timing requires verification).

Available volumes: 100 ml / 3.38 fl oz · 200 ml / 6.76 fl oz · 500 ml / 16.91 fl oz · 1 L / 33.81 fl oz · 5 L / 169.07 fl oz
