How to Use Vinyl & Leather Weld – Step-by-Step Guide

Prepare the surface: Thoroughly clean and degrease the damaged area with Leather Ultimate Cleaner and Leather Alcohol Cleaner. Make sure the surface is completely dry.
Trim the damage: Smooth the edges. If there’s a through-hole, reinforce it from the inside with a backing cushion.
Initial fill: Fill about 50 % of the hole with Vinyl & Leather Weld. Heat with a hair dryer and iron — the compound will become transparent and start to polymerize.
Copy the grain: Once cooled, apply another layer and press the prepared texture print from the Leather Grain Copier to replicate the original grain pattern.
Finish: Heat through thermal paper, let it cool completely, then colour and seal with Leather Colourant and Leather Top Coat if needed.

💡 Tip: This compound is ideal for synthetic leather and vinyl. For natural leather or high-wear areas, use Heavy Filler or Light Filler instead.
